Mr Lloyd George has amended clause 18 of the National Insurance Bill by reducing the minimum number of insured persons in an "approved society” from 10,000 to 5000, and also by providing fir the grouping of societies with a membership of under five thousand. The Labour members failed to secure tho abolition of the medical test for membership in societies, Mr C. F. G. Masterman, Under-Secretary for Homo Affairs, pointing out that the Government makes provision for persons rejected by the societies. •
