FIRE IN SYDNEY
DAMAGE TEN THOUSAND POUNDS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, October 27. A fire started late last night at the Haymarkot. It began in tho premises of tho Parramatta Woollen Company, occupying tho two, top flats. These and tho higher floors of tho building of Messrs Moorfoot Bros., general agents, were burned out. , The lower floors, where were a large number of motorcars, lorries, oil, and other stock, were damaged by water and smoko. A number of smaller tenants also suffered. Tho fire brigades were handicapped by a poor water supply. A squad of bluejackets from the warships rendered valuable assistance in removing motorcars and helping tho firemen. Tho damage is estimated at £IO,OOO, hut is covered by insurances.
