AT OTHER SCHOOLS

The Newtown scholars were addressed by tho chairman of the committee (Air J. G. Castle), Kev. J. Crowes, and Messrs Homblow and Phillips, on the subject of Dominion Day. At Clyde quay Messrs T. Forsyth (secretary) and \V\ G. Gandin addressed the scholars. Prizes for the best essays on “Dominion Day," presented by Air D. Robertson, were won by E. Rishworth and Z. Moss. There was a full muster of junior scholars and the two companies of cadets at tho Mount Cook boys’ school. The flag was saluted in due form. Tho headmaster (Mr C. Bain) addressed the scholars on tho meaning of Dominion Day. Air T. S. Lambert complimented the cadets on their smart appearance and steady drill and marching.
