FEOil OTJE OWN CORRESPONDENT. PALMERSTON. September 25. Mr Arnold, M.P., and Mrs Arnold were visitors to Palmerston yesterday. Mr Louis Nathan, of London, is visiting his brother, Mr Fred Nathan, at Palmerston.

After tne evening service at All Saint’s Church last evening to Rev. G. presented with a cheque for a substantial amount by the Rev. G. H. Kosher, on behalf of the parishioners and -friends. The Rev. G. Kendrick leaves Palmerston for England on Tuesday. The Palmerston Homing Pigeon Society held a novice race from Wellington on Saturday. Mr G. Gardner's bird arrived first, Mr G. Pettitt’s second, and Mr L. Roberts’ third. The time of the first bird was Ihr 35min. The delegate for the London Missionary Society, Rev. T. Lord, conducted the services in the Congregational Church yesterday. At a meeting after the evening service it was decided to form a branch of the Layman’s Missionary Society. A meeting of motor cyclists was held here on Saturday night. Delegates attended from Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, and Palmerston. It was decided to form a club called the North Island Auto Cycling Club. The following officers were elected; —Presidents, - Messrs Buick, H. N. Simpson, Daniels, H. B. Tucker, McKay, and Dr Read. Executive council—Messrs B. Kerr (Palmerston North), Barton (Dannevirke), McDonald (Wellington), amd Liudergreen (Hawke's Bay).
