MAGISTRATES COURT

Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M., presided at Saturday's sitting of tho Magistrate’s Court.

William Mylan admitted drunkenness and was sentenced to twenty-one days’ Imprisonment. Dor. having made use of obscene language Michael Mylrea, alias Mcßae, and William Robinson, alias McEwan, were each fined 40s or seven days' imprisonment, Tho same accused were convicted of being idle and disorderly persons and wero each sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. Dor having deserted from the steamer -Kimutaka a seaman named Solomaii Vale, or J. Vale, was ordered to forfeit two days’ pay and to pay court costs Ts, in default twenty-four hours’ imprisonment. John Baker was charged with having, on September 23rd, at Ngahauranga, stolen, one sheep, valued at 20s, the property of Patrick Cavanagh. Ho was remanded till September 27th, bail being fixed at £GO, with one surety of -ECO. MOXJKT COOK. . Before Mr T. S. Lambert, J.P., Kathleen Getto and Mary Clark, old offendors were charged with drunkenness. They had each been bailed out for 10s. Not appearing, they were fined the amount of thoir bail, with tho alternative of forty-eight hours’ imprisonment.
