Fry, the Sussex cricketer, writes to the newspapers stating that he is anxions to go to Australia with the Marylebone (earn. His -delay in accepting the invitation is due to the difficulty of securing the £2OOO required annually for the upkeep of the training ship Mercury, of which he is director. Mr Fry adds that it would be absurd to sacrifice the Mercury to cricket. He will be able to go if the public will subscribe freely. C. P. MEAD PLAYS TWO BRILLIANT INNINGS.
