- FEOVE ODE OWN COEEESTONDBNT. July 31. -The death is reported from Auckland of Mr H A. -YVholch, formerly in business in Masterton as a draper and clothier. During the month of July there wore 23 births, i deaths, and 1 marriage in Masterton. No bankruptcies were recorded in Masterton this month. Mo trace has yet been found of the man. James Kingdon, who has been missing from his home for a week. There wore three _ convictions for drunkenness recorded ,in Masterton during July. A sparrow match, fired by the "Maptorton Gun dub on Saturday last, was won by Mr It. Buick. A clay pigeon match was won by Mr y . H. Taplin, and a combined clay pigeon and sparrow match by Mr T. C. Irving, of Carterton. Mr T. Quinn, stationmaster at Eketahuna, has been appointed to a similar position at Pahiatua.
