Hoffgaard (Unionist) 2561 Sccrrr (Socialist) 134 At the eeaesaJ election in December last Mr O. P. Q, Masterman, TJnder-Socrotary for tbo Home Department, wa s elected for West Ham Worth, but vras unsoa&od on petition oil aceoant of tho acta of am agent, though he himself •was absolved from blamei. At the same election Mr Hoffgmard was a oondida/te for the seat ior which he has just boon defeated. South* west Bethnal Green, and was beaten, by 2768 to 2086, by Mr E. IL Pickens gill, who has since retogned and accepted a magistracy.
