THE EXHIBITION
LARGE ATTENDANCE YESTERDAY LAST DAY TO-DAY The Exhibition has been in progress for ten weeks, but the public have never tired of it—rather they have shown increased interest as the days have gone on. Tho display has boon a distinct credit to the manufacturers of the Dominion, for it has shown that Now Zealanders have brains whicb thej know how to use profitably. Yesterday 3146 persons went through the turnstiles. making the total to date 157.611. Close'on .£IOO was taken in cash. PROGRAMME EOR TO-DAY. NUMEROUS ATTRACTIONS. To-day will ho the last on which persons may have a chance of inspecting the display, and it is expected that the attendance will bo far greater than on any previous occasion. The Commissioners hove arranged numerous attractions for tho entertainment of visitors. This morning there will bo provided ,a Punch and Judy show for children, and this will again bo put on in the afternoon. A free cinematograph show will be given in tho concert hall, and a number ol now films will bo screened. In the afternoon there will take place a fancy dress carnival for children. Those wearing fancy costumes will bo admitted to the Exhibition free. Ten handsome prizes are to bo aw-arded to tho best dressed competitors (the public, who are to act as judges, will receive voting tickets). There will be a fancy dress carnival for adults in tho evening, ,syhon the same conditions governing admittance will obtain as those for tho children’s carnival. Prizes to the value of A 350 are to be given. Every lOOQfcli person going through the paying turnstiles will bo the recipient of a rolled-gold w-atoh, and .£5 will be presented to the one guessing the nearest to tho total number of persons passing through all the turnstiles. Free samples are to be distributed, and special bands will dispense music. A PRESENTATION. MR 11. H. SEATON’S SERVICES RECOGNISED. A meeting of tho promoters of “Exhibitors’ Day” was held in the office of H. P. Allen and Son yesterday afternoon for the purpose of presenting Mr H. H. Seaton, tho organiser of the arrangements for tho day, with a, handsome gold albert as a mark of appreciation of his energetic work. Mr H. IV. Lloyd made the presentation, and referred to the foresight and business acumen of Hr _ Seaton in initiating the idea of “Exhibitors’ Day.” Reference was also made to Mr Seaton’s interest in tho Industrial Association and tho good work that hp had done on tho executive committee for some years past. Mr N. W. 8011, representing Hhe IVaipa Collieries, Limited, in endorsing Mr Lloyd's remarks, stated that ho had not had the pleasure of meeting Mr Seaton previous to the venture, but ho accounted himself as being fortunate in afterwards coming into contact with him. Mr Seaton, in returning thanks, said that he had not looked for any reward for the small assistance ho had been able to give and he had been taken absolutely by surprise in being made tho subject of a presentation. Ho thanked the exhibitors for th'eir kindness.
