LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
A SHORT SITTING. Subsequently the Legislative Council met for the transaction of business. The Hon. W. C. F. Carncross, Chairman of Committees, presided in tho absence in England of the Speaker, Sir Charles Bowen. The lion. J. McGowan acted as the representative of the Government in tho absence of the Attorney-General, Sir John Findlay.
Sir Henry Miller and the Hon. S. I. George, who were absent last session, took the oath of allegiance to his Majesty King George.
