CROWN LANDS
MEETING OF WELLINGTON BOARD. YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS. A meeting of tho Wellington Land Board was held yesterday, tho Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr Mackenzie) presiding. There were also present—Messrs J. Dawson, 11. T. Ellingham, J. Georgctti, W. McLennan. Tho Commissioner advised tho hoard that Me J. Dawson had been reappointed a member for another term 01 two years. Applications for land were considered and dealt with as follow; TRANSFERS.. The foUowingftransfcrs were approved on the usual conditions: —Section 3, block 2, Mangahao, 2CO aero?, W. Hall to T. Ronlston; lot 27 of section 7, block 8, Makotuku, 5a 2r 32p, A. J. 6rd to H. J. E. Morris; section 25, block 16, Hautapu, 2.0 acres, Mrs M. Rule to F. U. Pearson. With reference to the application by J. 9. Olark to transfer section 10, block 16, Apiti, 2CO acres, to Mr George llart, which was approved by the Land Board at last meeting subject to tho transferee being- eligible, it now appears that,if tho transfer take* place the transferee and his wife will hold 700 acres of land.—lt was resolved to decline the application. • llr l). O’Shea, selector of section 2, block 1, Hanua, 203 acres, applied to transfer to his wife, Mrs M. A. O Shea. A report was received from tho Crown Lands Ranger in reference to selector’s non-coraplianco with the residential conditions of tho lease, and it was resolved to decline.* and ask him to show-cause why his interest should not bo forfeited.
Mrs 3. A. Saveli applied to transfer her interest in sections 22, block 10, TJmutoi, and 23, block 16, Apiti, 29a 5r Op, and 200 acres respectively, to Mr J. T. Shore, the present sublessee.—lt was resolved to approve on the usual conditionsMr J- W. Payne applied to transfer his interest in sections 9, 11, 13, block 7, Owhango township, to Mr A. E. Smith,.—lt was resolved to recommend the Minister to consent provided the proposed transferee is suitable.
Mr W. G. Tolley applied to transfer his leases of sections 8 and 9, Kewa V.S., 9 acres and 10a Ir 37p respectively, to Mr Wrn. Anderson.—lt was resolved t to approve provided tho transferee is suitable. A report was received from the Crown Lands Ranger on Mr S. G. Humphries' application to transfer section 35, Mangaweka V.S., 7a 3r 3Cp, to Mr C. Lo rovro Honore.— It was decided to decline tho application. With reference to tho proposed transfer of section 1, block 11, Kaitieko, 400 acres, from the mortgagee in the estate of Mrs K. F. Lockycr to Mr C. N. Waldegrave, it was resolved to approve of a transfer of tho land direct from Mrs K. F. Lockyer to Mr Waldegrave, it having now been arranged that the mortgagee should not act in the matter, tho transfer to take place as soon as the Commissioner is satisfied that the required improvements have been, effected, and that everything is in order. Mr F. Bov/sey Applied to transfer section 1, block 15, Nukomaru Mowhaftau V.S., 89a 3r Op. to Mr James Hodges.—lt was decided to approve.
Mr A. 11. Braithwalte applied to transfer section 46, block 7, Tararua, 200 acres, to Messrs P. E. Knyvett and T. S. R. Schaw, —The Board resolved to approve of the application. Mr E. Blake applied to transfer sections 2S and 27, block 5, Ml. Cerberus, 4CO acres, to Mr R. A. Giddcns.—it was resolved to decline.
Mr 11. Grove applied to transfer section 9, block 7, Tiriraukawa. £OO acres, to Mrs E. K. Parsons. —It was decided to decline on account cf aggregation. A report was received from tho Crown Lands Ranger, on the application to transfer section 37, block 3, llantapu, 315 acres from Mr S. J. C. Weston to Miss E. M. Smith.—The board resolved to decline the application. Mr E. Andrew applied to take- Miss C. fi. Roberts as a partner in section 7. block 1, Ruahino, 727 acres.—lt was decided to approve of the application. A report was received from the Crown Lands Ranger on Mr C. Parker's application to transfer section 17, block 8, Ohinewairua Nanmunui 1.F., 40 acres, to Mr R. V/. Park.—lt was resolved to decline . tho application. Mr E. 11. Stacey, and it was resolved to approve provided all Vi in order, and -Mr Stacey iu eligible to hold-the land. Mr S. Glading applied to transfer flection 103, bxock 15, Belmont, 2a lr, to Mr E. Kovracs, and it was resolved to approve on the usual conditions, and provided the transferee is eligible. Air A. Conley applied to transfer section 7, block 14. Alanganui. 2-JO acres, to Air W. H. Sc arrow, and it was resolved to approve provided everything is in order. MISCELLANEOUS.
Mr A. Thomson applied for permission to sublet 13 acres, Taihape V.S., 3 roods, for twelve -months, to enable him to go on a trip to Scotland, and .It was resolved to approve.

Air C. Wilson having given notice to purchase the fee simple of section 31, •Alanunui V.S., in terms of section 177 ol the Land Act, 19J8, it was resolved to, appoint Air H. Lund ins as appraiser to make tho necessary revaluation.
Mr W. H. Heckler attended with-refer-ence to his application for a temporary permit to remain iu occupation of b.G.L. sections 86 and 87, block 16, Mangaum. and it was resolved to leave the matter in tlio Commissioner'a hands.

Mr .Tamos Larmcr applied to ohtaim the freehold title of section 1, block 1, Omahino and it was resolved to obtain a report from the Crown Lands Ranger as to whether tho residential conditions have been complied with. Tho area is 455 acres. Mrs Jane Sca-rle applied to obtain tho freehold title of section 7, block 5, Pukeoka.hu, 509 acres, -and it was resolved to obtain a report from the Crown Lands Rangpr as to whether tho residential con. dltions have been complied with, A report from the Crown Lands Hanger as to the compliance with the rcaidentia* conditions hv Mr J. Mr 11. Jurgens applied for the freehold title of section 5. bloclc 2, Hunua, and it was resolved to approve on the usual conditions.

A. L. Bailey, tho selector of section 61. block 14, Poha-ngina, 275 acres, applied to sublet his-interest in the section to Messrs F. J. Russell.and A. G. Russell, ana it was resolved to approve provided the sublease is made to confoi'iu to the usual requirements of the board. The Commissioner reported that a transfer of section 75, block 4. Mangahao, 1 acre, from Mr J. H. James to Mr S. Bolton had been registered in the Land Transfer Office without payment of tho necessary fee or tho consent of the board having been first obtained.—lt was resolved to approve tho transfer on tho usual conditions. and provided a fee of 5s is paid to th-i Receiver of Land Revenue. With reference to tho proposed transfer of sections 1022 a-nd 1024, Palmerston North 'suburbs, from Mrs E. White to Mr William Gray, it was resolved to rescind tho resolution of last meeting approving of tho trans.Mr Jainca Kirk applied to transfer section 6, block 10, Mataroa township, 1 rood, to Mrs Isabel Barrakat. and it was resolved to obtain a report from the ranger Tim board will resume it a sittings this morning.
