Business on tho Exchange was unsettled this week, as far as mining stocks were concerned, by the uncertainty regarding the position of affairs at Waihi. While there was a danger of the miners going' out, investors were naturally anxious, and the result was that Waihi shares sold down to 62s fid and Junctions to 26s 9d. Now, however, that the majority of tho men have;voted a-gainst striking, business has improved again. Both Waihi and Junction shares firmed Is per share yesterday, tho latter changing hands at 28s, and Waiiiis selling from b3s 9d to 63s 3d at the last call yesterday. The latest sales quoted to-day were Waihi 62s 3d. THAMES COMPANIES. In Thames lines the principal business since la&t report was in Saxons, a good many thousand shares having sold,up to 2s 7d, May Queens on the other hand dropped to 2i 3d, but to-day sold at Id advance. New Sylvia shares eased a little, being sold at 3s 7d and 3s Bd. Tairua mines declined from 2s fid to 2s Id, but G-olden Hills were a little firmer, sales being made up to Is 3d. COROMANDEL LINES. Coromandel linos are still neglected. Investment stocks are in good demand, in some cases at prices which do not give more than 5 per cent, to 6 per cent, upon the cost. WATCHMAN. The following telegram was posted on the Exchange, this morning from the manager of the Watchman mine: “Result of check samples taken from tho reel in the Sunbeam level proves the ore to be payable." SAXON. An important telegram was received this morning irom. the manager of tho Saxon Go.d Mining Company as follows: “Broke down the reef 10OU . leet level, 15 inches wide, heavily mineralised, strong blotches of gold.seen."
