BOGGED ON A CITY ROAD.

Though a common enough occurrence on the tracks which do duty as roads in the back-block districts; it docs not often happen that a waggon becomes bogged in a city thoroughfare. Such, however, was the fate of a Waggon need in transporting road metal along Kelburne Parade on Saturday. The waggon, which was heavily laden, got into trouble at the' back of Victoria College, th» two wheels on the off-side sinking right to the axles in one of the numerous soft patches left by recent sewerage laying operations. All tire efforts of the team to extricate the waggon failed, the only results being to work the wheels deeper in and break the shafts. There it remained for several hours and was only shifted towards evening by strenuous efforts on the part of men and horses.
