COMMISSION OF INQUIRY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. . SYDNEY, July 14. The Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to inquire concerning tho Australian Jockey Club and its relation to racing has hold its first meeting. The members of the Commission asked the chairman, Mr T. H. Thrower, M.L.A. for Mocqnarrio, what prompted him to ask for the Commission. Before replying, tho chairman ordered the press representatives to withdraw. Mr Cropper, the club’s secretary, will bo examined at the next sitting. The Commission adjourned ' for a week.
