George Hustings, alias Taylor, was olnurged with ’ having, on July 6th, stolen zinc, valued at ss, the property of Arthur Bernard Thomson. He pleaded guilty. Sub-Inspector Sheehan stated that accused took the zinc from the yard of com. pltiinant and sold it to a second-hand dealer for Is 6d. He had just returned from Pakatoa, and had a number of convictions against liim for theft. Accused was fined 40s or seven days’ imprisonment, tho property to be returned to the owner and Is 6d to be refunded to the second-hand dealer. DRUNKENNESS. John Henry Brookes pleaded guilty to drunkenness, and was fined 20s or seven days' .imprisonment, a prohibition order to be issued against him. For a similar offence Gustave Petersen was sentenced to twentyone days’ imprisonment.
