SENSATIONAL STATEMENT AN ALLEGED SECRET TREATY. , BETWEEN FRANCE AND MOROCCO. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright, LONDON, July 6. Some of tho nowsjiapers publish details of a secret treaty between Franco and Morocco, by which Franco for a period of five years guarantees tho Sovereignty of the Sultan, and undertakes to provide sufficient troops to koop tho revolutionaries in subjection. After tho expiration of tho fivo-year term, tho Sultan will organise local government, assisted by a French Councillor. Franco will provide a loan. The Sultan is free to conclude other international treaties, provided ho first submits his intention to France. THE ALLEGATION DENIED. LONDON, July 6. Reuter’s Paris correspondent states that tho alleged secret treaty between Franco and Morocco is fictitious. BRITISH INTERESTS INVOLVED. THE GOVERNMENT WILL PROTECT THEM. LONDON, July 6. Mr Asquith stated in the House of Commons that the new situation which had arisen in Morocco was likely to affect British interests. He was confident that diplomacy would find a solution, but it was the Government’s duty to protect British interests and fulfil her treaty obligations to Franca. GERMAN GOVERNMENT 1 S ACTION.
