AID TO MIXING OPERATIONS. : PEESS ASSOCIATION. INVERCARGILL, May 27. The Hon. 11. McKenzie has been visiting the goldfields districts of Central Otago, On Wednesday he was at Roxburgh, on Thursday at Ophir, and last evening lie reached' Xa&cby. During yesterday he maxi< a personal'inspection of the area in Ida Valley covered by the projected irrigation scheme, for which comprehensive survey*, are now: being, carried out. At Xascby tue Minister was welcomed by the Mayor, after which a deputation from the local Miners* Association waited on Mm and aaked for Government assistance to construct an additional reeervolr on Ida Bum, which; would enable mining operations to be carried out to great advantage The' .promised to have the project reported upon by a Government officer The Hen. Air McKenzie is now at Balclullia
