THE “GUMGROVE" ESTATE CHANGES HANDS. . An important land sale took place in Featherston yesterday, when Levin and Co., Ltd., acting under instructions from Messrs Young and Tripe, solicitors for the trustees of tho estate of the late William Nicols, offered at auction at tho Town Hall tho “Gumgrovo" property, consisting of 13G0 acres of farming land near- the Featherston township. There was a large attendance. Bidding began at jCI-Ii per acre, and bids quickly followed up to -E23 per acre, at which price the property was sold to .Mr Brnce Speedy, of Featherston. The ’gross value of the property is .£31,280.
