PEOM OWE OWN CORRESPONDENT. PALMERSTON, May' 8. Worshipful Brothers Walter Rutherford, P.M., ajid Cr.S. elect, Collingwood, P.M., and J. Pawson, P.M., leave Palm ’erston this week as delegates to the Grand Lodge conference at Christchurch. A local wholesale firm is considering the advisability of, hauling its goods hy steam_ waggon from Foxton to Palmerston, instead of railing them. A motor waggon has been obtained, and will bo given a thorough trial this week. The following are the scores of the members of the Palmerston North Rifles who fired off the third section for the non-coms.'’ shield on Saturday:—

Shaw acted as whip. _ At a meeting of the club committee in tho evening it was reported that the hunters' cup donated by Messrs Coilinson and Cunninghame would bo competed for at the winter show instead of at tho spring fixture.
