The Argentine correspondent of the “Press states: “.Many of the North American capitalists interested in frozen beef are not only trying to dominate the industry here,, but arc aiming to form a gigantic international “trust ’ which will embrace some of the principal firms of your country—New Zealand. Suck is tho idea current here. A tclegiam was received from AVashington the other day announcing this project, and it created considerable excitement amongst those interested in the trade in Argentine. Its object appears to bo not only to dominate the preserved meat markets of the United States, but-also those of Europe.' It is rep&’rted from AVashington that the North American capitalists exercise a powerful influence on the meat trade in the Argentine Republic by the establishments they already possess here. Still they are not yet the owners of tho greater part of the frigorifico .establishments in this country, but it is an admitted fact that their productions increase move readily than those of the establishments belonging to tho Argentines or tho English. Tho Yankees have lately acquired land in Parana with tho object of establishing there a new American frigorifico. AVhat the result will bo of this recent movement is waited for with immense interest .here.”
