The three firemen, Hill, Saddler, and Martin, belonging to the steamer Waipara, who were drowned in tho river yesterday, boarded the steamer Manila instead of the Waipara. They had been directed to the proper wharf, and made towards the water.

Hill walked straight into the water; Martin went to his assistance, and Sadler subsequently went after tie others. All were struggling together in deep water.

A man > named Dunn, from another Steamer, plunged in, but the men pulled Tvi-m under, almost drowning him, and he had to struggle to free himself. The othera sank. When recovered their bodies were locked together.
