Mr Henry Gilleec© Dutton has been, appointed choirmaster and organist of St. Sepulchre's Church, Auckland, in succession to Air Vincent Rice, who recently resigned after holding tho position for upwards of forty-one years. Air Dutton, who was elected out of eleven .applicants, received his musical training at Tewkesbury Abbey, England, gained an organ scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music, London, is a Fellow of tho jßoyal College of Organists, has had eleven years* English experience in wellknown London churches, and , for the past throe months has acted as deputyorganist and choirmaster at All Saints', Ponsonby. Air C. E. Daniell, Masfcerton, resumed his seat on the Wellington Harbour Board yesterday, after his long illness, extending over some months. The chairman welcomed Air Daniell back to the board, and expressed the hope that h© had thoroughly regained his health. Air Daniell, who has not hod an opportunity of giving an opinion at the board table on tho dock question, owing to his enforced absence, discussing the matter with a “Times" reporter, remarked' that he thought Mr Fletcher had acted with great tact throughout the proceedings. 'T have been long enough on public bodies to know what such negotiations mean," ho added, “and I think the vfydrman is to be congratulated upon tho result of his efforts.
