THE MATINEE HAT INCIDENT

In giving reserved judgment in the case Dann (a press agent) and his wife against Mr Frank Curzon (theatrical manager), a claim for £152, including Mrs Eardley’s fees, in pursuance of an agreement to arrange a big advertisement for Curzon by creating the matinee hat incident in April last (when Mrs Elardiey and another . lady were turned away from the Pring© of Wales Theatre because they were wearing hats a yard wide) the Judge decided that Curzon had agreed to nay the Danns, but dismissed the claims, on the ground that the agreement was illegal and against public policy. ,
