SOUTHERN PRODUCE MARKET
MIESR ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, October 25. There is nothing fresh to report in connection with the local grain marketWheat is practically unsaleable, and oats are wanted but are not forthcoming. The only move is in ryegrass, which the continued dry weather has caused to advance. The shortage of feed will prevent the usual area iu Canterbury being clcsecl up for seed, and, the coming seaean's crop is likely to be a very short one. The dry weather has, however, had tho effect of checking the demand for spring sowing, but this will have to be made up Inter on. Potatoes are now in a very small compass, and the price has gone up to .t'B 15s at country stations. An Australian consignment was expected at Lyttelton last week, but it did net come to hand.
