CUBAN OFFICER SHOT

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright HAVANA, October 23. Major-General Pino .Guerra, commander of the Cuban army, narrowly escaped assassination when leaving the Presidential Palace at Havana. He re-, ceived a shot in one of his legs, the wound being rather serious. A sentry wounded the general’s assailant, who was captured. The would-be murderer proved to be a member of the secret police.
