At the Congregational Union speakers deprecated the alleged stampede of clergymen for political honours. The prohibition party is disappointed with the result of the local option vote, and demands an alteration of the ]aw to secure State and local option; also that'the vote shall apply to the. production as' well as the sale of liquor. Elimination of the reduction clause is also urged.
