NFW BILL PASSED. The third reading of the Defence Amendment Bill was mowed by tho At-tonrey-GoncraJ without comment. In congratulating Dr Findlay upon flu© of tho measure the Hon. Captain Bail lie (Marlborough) expressed great feat that no real good would, follow from it. The whole tiling, indeed, would prove a mere sham. After Dr Findlay had replied that tho Government I‘olt confidence in the Bill, tho origination of which was duo to ono of tho greatest soldiers of the age, tho measure was put through its final stages.
