DUNEDIN BAND CONTEST
PBESS ASSOCIATION. . DTJNEDIN, October 20. The Band Contest was continued to-day. BesulU: Tenor Trombone Solo.—W. Lanham, Woolston, 48 points, 1; Arthur Wills, Invercargill Hibernian, 46 points, 2; T. Gorst, Lyttelton, and 'M. Wcarne, Lyttelton. 45 points, 3. Also competed: E. Madden, Dunedin Citizens, 44; S. Barton, Woolston, 44; A. P. Stewart, Mornington, 43. First Test Selection, "Souvenir de Richard Wagner," was played this evening, the bands competing being: Dunedin Citizens, Invcrcargill Hibernian, Kailioral, Lyttelton Marine, Mornington, and Woolston'. The playing in at least two instances was particularly fine. The attendance was exceedingly good. The result will not T>e known till to-morrow night, when the final test selection, "LCAfricaine," will bo played.
