LADY DECIE'S FAMOUS CATS
Lady Decies is by way of being one of the finest authorities on that " harmless and necessary” domestic'animal in the country. An .active member of the hi ational Cat Club Committee, her ladyship frequently. exhibits some rare and wonderful specimens, cf Persian and shorthaired varieties. One of them. Fulmer Zaida, a beautiful pale chinchilla, is valued ut- ; J2ol>, and has won some pno hundred and sixty distinctions. Another, Fulmer Xcniphon, is , regarded as the best short-haired tabby in existence. It was taken as a. kitten from the woods, a wild little creature, but soon learnt to follow its mistress like a dog. ' At Birchington-on-Soa, in Kent, Lady Decies has made a charming home for her little favoured friends. All. the apartments are whitewashed, with a cork carpet and fireplace in every room, and green -blinds and wired.- windows to enable the occupants to bask in the sun as long as ever they feel inclined to. Their little bods, her ladyship’s own invention, open with a spring, in principle not unlike rabbit hutches. With a vicwto.amnsing pussy,during wet days, balls and, corks hang galore from the ceilings-of tho catteries, and also ladders'.
Lady Decies disposes -of, tier kittens at prices ranging from two guineas, all tho proceeds being handed over to the charities ill which she is interested.—From “ M,A,XV”
