Two trolley cars, laden with women and children going to a picnic, collided at Oaklunds, California. Twenty-five persons were injured, several fatally. One car, in wQiich, were many of the ii-jured, ran away a mile before it could be stopped. MURDER OF A CHILD HORRIFYING DISCOVERY AT A KENTUCKY SCHOOL. (Received May 31, 11.10 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 31. The body of Alma Kejler, the cight-year-okl daughter of a wealthy brewer, was found buried in a cellar below St. John's school, Louisville, Kentucky, in a teiribly mutilated state. The police are searohing for the school porter, who has been missing since January 12th. It was previously believed that the child had been kidnapped, and her parents offered laTge rewards for her recovery. MELBOURNE SENSATION ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER AND SUICIDE. (Received May 31, 11.10 p.m.) MELBOURNE, May 31. A tragedy occurred to-day at the Sir Walter Scott Hotel in the city. Mrs Dean, a barmaid, rushed downstairs witl blood gushing from a wound in her throat, a man named Punks, similarly wounded, closely following her. Punks succumbed in the hospital, and Mrs Dean's condition is serious.
, The couple- had been living together. Mrs Dean claims totea native of Westport, -ond separated from her. husband. She stated that Punks cut her throat anc then his own. Jealousy is supposed to bi tho cause of the crime.
