He was encaged iii'blasting logs in a paddock, and had just finished a charge, but beforo the fuse was fixed the explosion occurred. Kemp was standing on the log at the time. His hair was badly singed, and his clothes became on fire. He only had enough energy to rush to a swamp ■ and roll in the water, but before he got the fire out ho was terribly burned about the body. At present,he'..is lying in a neighbour's IwmsG in a, very"'isorious condition. Kemp .has no knowledgo how the charge went off, but it is surmised that he was smoking at the time, and a spark dropped on to the powder.
