Tho "Daily Hail" reports that a powerful syndicate, with a capital of &1,50>J,0U0 and headquarters in London, has been formed to open up 112,000 acres, leased for ninety-nine years from tho Papuan Government. Lord Ranfurly is chairman of the syndicate. Special attention will to paid to cotton growing, and tho syndicate has also secured leases of gold-dredging areas.
