Tho first annual show of 'the Dannevirke A. and P. Association will he hold on Friday, February tilth. Prize schedules may bo obtained from the secretaries, ■ Messrs Stubbs and Webb, Dannevirke. it is less than throe months since it was decided to form an Agricultural and Pastoral Association for tho D'annevirk© district, but the project has boon taken up so enthusiastically that even at this early
stag© ©veryhhing points to a suoocesful .oareor. Although the canvassing Lai nob yet been completed there are already between 350 and 400 members enrolled. Special prizes for the show .reach a total of nearly £2OO, and the value of the tprize-list altogether amounts to ,£450. Under the Pleading of “Competitions” there are some , specially valuable prizes offered. For in&tanco in tho Open 'Hunters’ ■Competition tho first prize is worth 15 guineas. Maiden Hunters* 7 guineas, and Ladies* Hunters* 5 guineas. Mr James Armstrong is president of the afiso-cviationT Messrs W. Dose and L. C. DatOibone vice-presidents, while the Committee of Management is a strong and representative -one. Entries for tho show close at 9 p.m. on January 23th. A Elam Fair takes place the day after tho .show. The closing date of ‘entries is notified in another column.
