INVERCARGILL CUSTOMS RETURNS
PRESS ASSOCIATION. INVERCARGILL, January 2. InTercargill Customs returns for December reached .£6832 (including .£164 surtax) against .£6867 for December, 1908. The quarterly returns show receipts ,£21,154, against ,£19,126 for the last quarter of 1908. Beer dutjr for December amounted to ,£278 4s, against ,£253 8s for the previous December, and for the quarter it is .£627 7s 6d against .£SBB 3s 9d for the quarter ending December, 1908. The increases represent an increased output of locally manufactured beer of 1984 gallons for the month and $135 gallons for the quarter.
