From Wellington to Lower Hutt and Petone 1500 people travelled, and between Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt about 1000; 1200 went to Plimmerton and Paekakariki; 800 to the races at Tauherinikau; and 200 to other parts of the Wairarapa. Tickets for places north of Paekakariki weit issued to CSO , passengers.
