Rain has fallen in Taranaki and about East Cape, but elsewhere the weather has been remarkably warm and fine. The barometer has Tisen steadily in the south, but fallen slowly in the far north. The ■ present conditions are very unstable, especially in. the north, for low; pressure exists everywhere to the westward, and although there are but few positive indications of a change in the immediate future, yet 6nch is probable shortly.
