IN "THE LADIES' GALLERY
- Last the House looked un usually gay. ' The gallery was filled to overflowing -with' the fair sex. Even the floor of the House itself boasted , a row of well-dressed women. ■ Mrs Baume was there in a pretty white silk frock, with <mld embroideries. Mrs Herxies, always an attentive listener, was. in black silk, and Mrs Hine, who sat with her, wore. a tussore silk cos-tume-with- large black picture hat. : 'Mrs Sidey, amongst a small jp-oup of friends, had donned a pretty white frock, and, with, this she wote a round white hat with feathers. . Mrs Louisson's frock of blue 6triped niDon over silk was much admired. It had beautiful lace about the bodice and sleeves, with /touches of gold. Mrs Nosworthy was in a pink floral cown aaid large hat, and Mrs Bankine Brown was in black, over which she wore a soft grey cloak. The supper adjournment hour is responsible foi many merry Little parties iu the tearoom, and it is here that tired and jaded .members are glad to come with their wives and friends for a little idle chatter and laughter.
