A terrible fatal accident occurred here yesterday while the military airship Rome was being given a trial flight before a large'crowd of spectators. The balloon was just beginning to ascend when tho crowd commenced to close in, and an officer, Lieutenant Rovetti, in endeavouring to keep the too-curious people back, came in contact with the propeller. This was revolving at high speed, and the blades split tho officer’s head open, so that death resulted instantaneously.
