MORE STRIKE TROUBLES
SYDNEY QUARRYMEN PRESENT ' DEMANDS. i CLIFTON COLLIERY CASES. Br Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. ~ (Received November 2, 1 a.m.) SYDNEY, November 1. Most of,the private quarries about Sydney were idle to-day. The strikers , have made a demand for an increase of a shilling,a day in wages, and a reduction of the working hours front forty-eight to forty-four per week. In a few cases these demands hav( i been conceded. Other branches of the building trade are affected by the strike. The hearing of the cases against the remaining 186 men who absented themselves from work at the South Clifton i Colliery was resumed . to-day. The strikers have decided not to attend at Court unless kept' in custody or supplied with food, declaring they are ; without means to obtain food, and cannot leave tho district' to, get work because they have to, attend at Court. Tho ooko works at tho Clifton Colliery have been closed, owing to the strike. i
