REBELS IN FLIGHT
OFFICERS FAIL TO KEEP A PLEDGE. JUDGE LYNCH AWAITS A CHANCE By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright ATHENS, October 31. Some of the naval rebels who landed between Eleusis and Megara from the torpedo-boat destroyer Velos, after the short fight in Salalmis Strait on Friday, hid. in a wood, and attempted to Hold up a train, but gendarmerie appeared on the scene, and captured four of them and put the rest to flight. Two wounded officers were arrested in hiding in Athens. Prisoners state that sixty-nine officers signed a protocol to enforce the naval demands, but only nineteen fulfilled the pledge. Several regiments, mobilised in haste, have arrived at Athens, where the populace threaten to lynch the mutineers.
After Lieutenant Typaldos had made his escape, Lieutenant Zeras brought the dpstroyer Velos to Salamis. The commander of the destroyer Aspis escaped wlr'le the rebels were changing their clothes on shore, and, steaming to Corinth, there surrendered.
