GARRXSOX SHIELDS MATCHES. SOME GOOD SCORES, The first series of matches- in this sea-; foil’s Garrison Shields competitions was got off at'Ti>entbam on Saturday after-, uoon. The,re was a muster all: told of 319, iucludiiig twenty-seven officers, sevteen of whom were shooting. l Captain Turner had charge of the range. Ini the senior division four teams entered. The result was a foregone conclusion, the Citv Rifles with their very strong team winning with a margin to spare of thirty-nine points. The final scores in all grades were as follow: Senior,
The highest score was put up by Lieutenant Mellor (City Rifles), who put on 100 out of a possible 105. The afternoon was fine, and a fairly steady rightrear wind prevailed, which needed five or 'six degrees deflection at the longer ranges.
