In celebration o£ tho anniversary of "the Terrace Congregational Sunday school special services were .successfully held yesterday, and were largely attended. In the morning the Tier. Bawdeji Hands, of Alicetown, occupied the pulpit, the Rev. A. Macdonald Asplancl, of the Courtenay place church, spoke to the children in-the afternoon, while in the evening the service was conducted bv the pastor, the Rev. J. Reed CUasgon. The singing by the children throughout the, day was a spccial feature of the celebations, and in this they were assisted bv tho church choir and an. orchestra. Mr W. J. Lankshear was the conductor. The celebrations will be continued on Wednesday evening, when a tea and public meeting will be held.

A very successful mission is being given, bv tho Marist Fathers in Te Aro parish. Tho services, which are at present for the women of tho parish, are attended an, large numbers. Last evening St. Joseph's Church was crowded, and an impressive service was preached bv tho Rev. Father Kimbell, S.M. The mission for women will continue during the week, after which a fortnight’s mission for men will bo held. The Marist Order is essentially a missionary and teaching one, and tho sphere of opprations is world wide. The work of the Order in the South Pacific Islands is very successful. . .The. mission is being given by- tho Rev. Fathers O'Connell, Kimbell and McCarthy, yvho, it is worthy of note, .were bom and educated in New Zealand.
