An excellent demand continues to bo fared for old jiotatoos, whilst, new tubersn both from Australia and local sources, are having -a 'keen outlet. The Auckland district, which usually is well to the face with consignments, of new potatoes, ' has sent very few down bo far, the bulk having come from the Ot&ki district. Some very nice samples of Victorian onions have arrived of late, but owing to the advanced stngo of tho season these cannot be relied upon to keep more than about a. week or ten days. The shipment, -of California!! ouiens which cam©-to hand last Tuesday is somewhat in an ttneven condition, at the sarae time some very primo onions are available. Potatoes, prime old, £3 15s to .£1 5s ton; inferior, 3s to 6s sack; new potatoes vary from ISs to 21s cwt; onions, Caiiforniaji, .£l6 to .£l7 ton; Victorians, .£l2 10s to .£l3 ton. Tho Californian onions arc in cases, whilst tho Victoria us arc in gunmen. OTHER VEGETABLES. Small supplies of vegetables still continue to reach the local markets, and as a rulo when prices hero aro ruling at extreme rates, shipments aro made from Auckland and tie. South; apparently the absence- of supplies fxojn thoso quarters is an indication that only limited quantities are available there, anil consequently there is vory little, chanco of the present tension being relieved, unless local sources of supply aro in a position to consign to a larger extent. The continued absence- of so many classes of vegetables is and it appears that there is no particular reason for the position.
