Turton, S.M., to-day William Hounslow, father of Spencer Ayluier Wilson Hounslow (aged ten), and having lawful custody of the bov, charged Alfred Charles Warren with taking the child away, .with intent to deprive him of possession. | William Hounslow gave evidence that after obtaining a decree nisi against his wife he went to Matiere, on the Main Trunk line, to obtain possession of his children. Ho took them to a boardinghouse, where Warren and his divorced wife appeared, seized the lad. and took him away. Complainant had not seen his son since, and had no idea whero he was at present. Evidence was also given by William and Kupert Hounslow, sons of complainant.

Accused reserved his defence and was committed for trial at tho next sitting of the Supreme Court at Wellington. Bail was allowed.
