The Amalgamated Miners* Association has instructed its delegates not to endorse the action of the combined unions at Port Pirie in recommending the men to resume work. A referendum is being taken among the Broken Kill miners to-day and tomorrow on the question of resuming work. The Premier, Mr Wade, has promised to introduce legislation against the long hours worked in Asiatic workshops. He stated that the existing law had proved ineffective to stop unfair competition against Europeans.
