At Masterton on Saturday afternoon, our correspondent telegraphs, a little boy named Harry Kavanagh, between six and seven years of age, a sou of Inspector Kavanagh, of the railway pernianenl way staff, while playing in the street, got under the wheels of a waggon laden with straw. Everything possible was done to make for the enjoyment of the pleasure-seekers, the whole of the grounds, conservatories, eto.. being thrown open to them. Sports were also held, the winner of the silver challenge cup being Mr C. Turnbull. The prizes were presented to the winners by the host and head of the firm, who was very heartily cheered by his employees as they set off on their journey back to town after spending a very gladsome day in the ipleasant country surroundings.
