A penny-in-slot turnstile for use at exhibitions and stations is being experimented with. It consists of a box 3ft high and Ift square, attached to the turnstile.' In the top of the box is a slot just large enough to receive ■ the coin of tlio value imposed. AVhe'n this coin is pressed to the bottom of the slot a knob on the end of a horizontal lever is released and swings away, releasing the turnstile. This returns to its position as soon as the passenger has pushed through tho stile.
