AVHBLOH PREPARING TO MEET THOROUGH GOOD. (Special to "N.Z. Times.”) CHRISTCHURCH, November 5. Mr G. Daly, of Akaroa, yesterday received a letter from Georgo AVhelch stating that he has taken up quarters at tho Cosmopolitan Hotel, Raymond terrace. He felt the hot weather very much tho first •week, but he was getting used to it. He does a four mile walk before breakfast and a six mile row before dinner.. He expects to get Fred Ford for a pacer. Thoroughgood (the champion) has Jack Mitchell, hut AVhelch seems to think him. useless, as he is not in any form, and Is only good for company. , ' , , IVhelch has received the new, Edwards sculler, with which he is greatly pleased. It weighs’ 201bs. AVhelch is very satisfied with his condition up to the present.
