With ducklings in particular it was found that •some form of animal food was essential. The results showed the gain per iiound was .made with less expense with meat than without it. Chickens receiving meat reached 31b weight three weeks before those that were fed without it, and they commenced laying four weeks earlier. A second experiment showed the same results.
