TWENTY-FOUR HOURS’ CONTEST. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, September 13. Forty-two competitors, including A. E. M. Rowlands, started a twenty-four hours’ walk at the Stadium. T. E. Hammond beat all records after fifty miles—including - the one hundred miles in 18hr 4min lOsec—and finally covered 131 miles 586yds. Horton was second, doing 121 miles, and Wakefield covered 318 miles. Rowlands retired after fifteen hours’ walking.
